AWAKEN THE GIANT WITHIN BY TONY ROBBINS
Tony Robbins is a very interesting personality. The man has no professional education in psychology, psychotherapy, and other similar activities, but he does his job much better than millions of certified professionals in the world. I have never visited seminars of this international self-help guru, and neither do I plan to spend thousands of dollars to listen to his speeches. Instead, I read 'Awaken the Giant Within: How to Take Immediate Control of Your Mental, Emotional, Physical & Financial Destiny' by Antony Robbins.
Written in 1991, 'Awaken the Giant Within' has immediately become an international bestseller. Even nowadays, after almost twenty years on the market, the book has not lost its popularity, demand, and appeal. This is all due to the personality of its author. In the book, Tony Robbins talks about the significance of your thoughts, the power of positivity, self-confidence, inspiration, and all other invigorating feelings. The author claims that a superhuman is present in all of us, and all we have to is to awaken this giant. There are no many professional words used in the book, and therefore, people unfamiliar with psychology will comprehend this book as well. 'Awaken the Giant Within: How to Take Immediate Control of Your Mental, Emotional, Physical & Financial Destiny' by Tony Robbins is a motivational book. This book doesn't give you exact and specific recommendations and tips on how to achieve success. Instead, the author is trying to inspire, and strengthen your confidence in your abilities and potential.
To be honest, I read this book to get familiar with the thinking and philosophy of Tony Robbins. I am not his fan. I always thought that a man with such a huge following and financial wealth must know something special. I thought he possesses some extraordinary psychological and persuasion knowledge that let him achieve all these heights. As a result, I was not impressed. There was nothing new for me in this book. Tony Robbins uses common and widely-used NLP practices such as building rapport, psychological anchoring, and so on. The title of this book sounds too promising – 'Take Immediate Control'. It makes me laugh. I am writing this post during serious outbreaks of COVID-19 around the world. People are dying and economies are suffering billions of dollars. I mention this because nobody should brag about 'Taking Immediate Control of'. Anyone who tells you that you can immediately change your life and destiny is a liar and charlatan. While analyzing Tony Robins' success, I immediately think about "the first mover's advantage.' Antony Robbins is a pioneer in this niche, and therefore, he was very lucky to start this business when there were almost no self-help gurus on the market.
This book will be helpful to people who have never read motivational books. If you have a lack of self-confidence and you want someone to inspire you and improve your self-estimation, then, this book will surely accomplish this mission. People interested in Tony Robins' thinking and practices, will also benefit from reading this book. More voracious and serious readers will find this book banal, common, and usual.
